Anne Dietrich

PhD student in the Sport Management Program at Texas A&M University, USA

Originally from Leipzig, Anne went to Ohio State University in the US on an athletic scholarship in 2013 at the age of 19. Since then, her life has bridged the Atlantic and she has focused on relationships and collaborative projects with people in Germany, Europe and the US.
Anne Dietrich's research focuses on sustainability in sport. In particular, she is interested in how sports organizations of all types and sizes can develop and implement engaging sustainability strategies. She is also interested in the role of athletes* in the sustainability transition.
Anne Dietrich received her Master of Science in Sustainable Development from the University of Leipzig and Utrecht in 2020. Furthermore, she also holds a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability from Ohio State University. Prior to her PhD, Anne worked for a European innovation consultancy, Tesla and Parley for the Oceans. Last but not least, Anne's passion for sports and sustainability stems from her years of participation in sports. Although she used to be a competitive rower, you're more likely to find her jogging, biking, yoga, or her new passion, judo.
