Dr Dominik Edelhoff is a sports scientist at the University of Duisburg-Essen, specialising in social justice in sport. His research and teaching focus in particular on (open) exercise, play and sports programmes for children and young people in socially disadvantaged situations, the capability approach and qualitative research methods. A particular focus is on the sports education question of how sports programmes need to be designed so that children and young people have a real opportunity to participate. His involvement in practical projects is primarily in the Open Sports initiative.
