Sandy Adam, M.Sc.

Sandy Adam is a research associate at the SEPT Competence Center at Leipzig University and a freelance lecturer in Sport Economics and Sport Management. His expertise has been consolidated through previous work as a research assistant in the field of sport management and sport governance at various academic institutions, such as Leipzig University, Solent University (England) and Play the Game (Denmark).
Sandy Adam holds a Master of Sport Sciences (M.Sc.) degree from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (FH). He also has many years of professional experience in various areas such as finance, marketing and sales.

His research interests lie in particular in the area of sustainable organizational management in sport, especially in soccer. He focuses on various aspects, including:

  • Development of sustainable management and organizational structures for sports organizations, such as the design of management and supervisory bodies (good governance).
  • Promoting member participation and co-determination in the decision-making processes of sports organizations.
  • Investigating the impact of sustainability regulations, such as the DFL sustainability guidelines, on initiatives in professional soccer clubs.
  • Analyzing the importance of sustainability as an institutional logic in professional soccer.

Sandy Adam is currently working on his dissertation at the University of Leipzig, which deals with corporate governance and regulation in German professional soccer. His aim is to make an important contribution to the sustainable development of sport and its organizations through his research and teaching activities.
